FaveCrafts also has a lot of neat ideas for up cycled craft ideas for the kiddos today, too! Head on over and check it out! (My personal favorite is the Storm Trooper Helmet, lol, buuutt its probably not something my girls would be too interested in. I doubt they even know what a Storm Trooper is or what movie they are from).
It wasn't long ago that I posted a Point to Ponder suggesting that even unhappy or frustrating events in our every day lives might be a good idea to scrapbook. One day in the future, we'll look back on it, and shake our heads and laugh about it. Jing-Jing Nickel suggests the same thing today, over at the Creating Keepsakes blog. Have a look for yourself! This is also part of the reason I named this little venture The Everyday Scrapbooker. I want to capture all aspects of mine and my family's life; not just the joyous and festive ones.
Kelly, a dear friend of mine, and also a contributor to the Canadian Scrapbooker magazine, has a beautiful layout she made today over on her blog, celebrating her sons' 18th birthday. Keep your eye out for it, because I'm certain you'll be seeing it around in the future!!
And, speaking of beautiful layouts and projects, you should see whats up on the Jillibean blog today. I'm always in awe of the work the design team does! (Can you see why JBS is one of my most favorite manufacturers? Not only are the papers and patterns a dream to work with, they are visually stunning, too!!!)
Echo Park shared some really great boy-themed gift tags on their blog today. If you're in need of some, see how they did it here.
Do you know what the Ombre effect is? Do you even know what Ombre is? Its a lightening of a certain color gradient, from darker to lighter (or vice versa). You can find it in everything- home decor, hair, nails, clothing, and you can even recreate the look in your scrapbooking projects! I want to recreate this card, its stunning! Have a look for yourself. I guarantee you'll be wanting to make something like it, too!
Ever thought to use nail polish to recreate the look of brads? Neither have I. But, Creating Keepsakes did! And, oh.my.word isn't this clever?????!!!! Tutorial and coordinating photo is included in their blog post. Pin this to your Pinterest, peeps, because this is something that will come in handy from now till you're no longer able to scrapbook! (But then, your kids will be able to carry on the tradition!!!) I've been waiting allll dayyyyy to share this one with you. I love the unique ideas that are often found on the pages of the Creating Keepsakes blog. If you haven't done so already, add them to your blog roll, stalk the stores for their magazines, or live vicariously through my What's Up updates to find all the goods. You'll never be disappointed!
