Hey guys, I'm back again! Three days in a row- whoo I'm on a roll! Hopefully I can keep it up until we leave for Fernie. Just a friendly, gentle reminder, I will be away next week, soaking up the beauty of our wonderful province of Alberta, and some of BC. Eek! I'll be back in time for the Swap and Shop on Sunday (the 8th), and then the kids start school on Monday, the 9th. Their first week of school, the class is going to be split; half is meeting Monday and Wednesday, and the other half is meeting Tuesday and Thursday. The week after, they're all going to be together. All 30 of them. Phew. Large Pre- K class, right?! I was hoping it would be smaller. And, that's just the MORNING class. There's an afternoon class, too! I'd hate to see how many are in that class. (I imagine there's probably 30 in that one, too). Our routine is going to change once school starts, and since this is our first time ever in school, I'm not quite sure what to expect. So, please bear with me while we figure our lives out once my children return home! Its been quite a while since I've done or shared my own personal work, and tonight, you're all in for a treat. I'm sharing two layouts I completed this afternoon because I wasn't in the mood for making cards. I really should- I've got a wedding card to make, and for some reason, I think there's another one that I need to make, but for the life of me I can't remember why. Its for personal reasons, it isn't business related. Hmm...I've been racking my brain all afternoon, but I'm still fuzzy on that little detail. Both these layouts were completed as design team assignments for Simple Sketches. You can find Simple Sketches HERE, HERE, and HERE. The first sketch, on the left, was my personal design team assignment (known as Sketch #1). I used a mix of patterned paper scraps that I had, and I thought the pink poodle would work well to highlight the story behind my layout and the title. The girls are fond of pretending that string or ribbon or anything long and wispy they find is their 'poodle puppy'. Maren happened to have pink ribbon of mine, and she dubbed it (lovingly, of course), her 'pink poodle puppy', which is where the title comes from! The pink alphas have been in my stash for quite some time, but you'll find them at Walmart for about $5.00, I think. The next layout, which you see on the right, I completed this afternoon. Its for the other team (Team B) on my design team, but we (Team A members) are welcome to play along, if we so choose to. ANd, the same is true for Team B members of Team A's sketches. Here, the girls sat out on the deck one afternoon, eating. I thought the journalling card would work well on this layout. So simple, and so sweet. I did actually get another layout done today, but its my next DT assignment, and I can't share it until it goes live on the blog, which is September 7th. I'll be able to share it with you when I get back from Fernie. It was nice to change gears and do some creating for myself this afternoon. It was good for my soul. Don't get me wrong, I love creating for everyone else, but I like that I sometimes have time to keep my own scrapbooking (somewhat) up to date. LOL I say somewhat because I'm still scrapbooking pictures from this past April. Better late than never, right?! Well, I have another tag order in the works, but I won't be able to start working on this one until after we come back from Fernie. In the meantime (in the next day, actually), I'd LOVE to make something else for ya'll! Shipping is free on all greeting cards, that's including my ready to ship cards, too! And yes, its free when you order a custom greeting card as well. Or, if you're a work at home mom, and want to start preparing for Christmas show and trade show season, get in touch with me, I'd love to make custom merchandise tags for you! The great thing is, they can be customized to exactly whatever your business is- wether you sell food, jewelry, hair accessories, clothing...the list goes on. The tags that I'll be working on when I return will somehow involve cupcakes. That's all I can share for now. I've already made some samples, and they both look good enough to eat. Seriously. And now...you'll just have to wait until I can share them with you. Enjoy whats left of your Labor Day long weekend, and I'll catch up with you again tomorrow!

Hi guys! Oh my word, I've just gotten a new order and I just got confirmation from my customer that I can share it. Eeeeekkk! Another work at home mom (local mama) asked me to make tags for her products. I am humbled, proud, and uber stoked about this opportunity. We've kept her initial order to a minimum, for now, but I'm hoping more will come to life in the future (and, I'm feeling pretty confident that it probably will). Would you like to see too? Here's just a sample of the tags that I'm making for her. I won't post them all, as they're all going to look the same! Half of the order will be using this blue card stock, and the other half will be used with red card stock. When I reach those ones, I'll post another shot, so y'all can see how they look in red! I love how versatile the stamp is that I used. Its a snowflake, but it sure doesn't look like it here, does it? Its pretty fun. I used SU's Creamy Caramel and Night of Navy inks. I also used a Martha Stewart punch for the border, and a CM tag punch that I've had in my stash for eons. I've used that punch for everything- from tags for my 'place setting tree' at my wedding, to general scrapbooking, to Christmas tags, to now business/merchandise tags. Its one of the best investments I've ever made. To date. I completed the mini album that I created the title page for on Wednesday night. You'll be able to find the entire album posted to my Instagram (#theeverydayscrapbooker), and (shortly) to my group page, in the Custom Projects album. You can find what's already posted there HERE. I'm discovering I absolutely love creating school themed projects. The patterned papers that I've got are just too much fun! In a stroke of inspiration, I cut out pencils with my Cricut, after originally thinking of just cutting circles. Thinking that would be pretty boring, I'm so glad I thought of something that was a little more 'school appropriate'. LOL Here's another little peek at that album: So, you get the general idea of what the album looks like by the two pictures on the right. Every spread has a different school themed patterned paper, but the basic design is still the same- the punched card stocks, the blue card stock photo mats, and the pencil you see in the bottom right corner of the picture on the far right. Every other page has a pencil on it. My customer wanted an album that would store pictures of her two boys' school years. The blue photo mat is large enough to display 2x3 photos, two per page. I chose to do grades 1 through 9, and if she so decides to, I can make a high school appropriate album some other time. I'm in love with this color combo- burgundy/cranberry colored card stock, black and teal. Yum! Bold and stunning! Well my friends, this is all I have to share for tonight, but thanks for dropping in and hanging with me for a few minutes! See everyone again tomorrow.
Good morning! How is everyone doing today? I figured that since I missed blogging yesterday, I would get it done now, that way its done and out of the way!
The current mini album I am working on, has decided that its breaking out of the usual 10-page limit that I restrict it to. Its a good thing I am planning to bind this mini album with O-rings, because otherwise more than 10 pages just wouldn't fly! I didn't get any mini album scrapping done yesterday, because I was waiting on my customer to get back to me and let me know how she wanted me to proceed. Now that we have that all figured out, I'm ready to get back to creating more pages in her mini album! Having said that, I created a TON of cards yesterday. I finished one entire collection, and began another. I'm positive I'm about halfway through that collection, too. Rather than photo bombing you here, you can find them on my group page, in the RTS album. I have some great news in addition to that! I hadn't ever really mentioned this, and I suppose I should, but when you purchase any of my cards- SHIPPING IS FREE!! Yes, that's right, I don't add shipping to the total cost of your cards, because the cost of shipping is already included in the price of your cards. Say whaaat?! Yep, so come on over and get some cards! Spread the word, and share the love! Here is the link to my RTS album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.337152849729251.72072.112990898812115&type=3 And now, for some REALLY GREAT news! Have you picked up your Fall edition of Canadian Scrapbooker yet? You really should. You'll see some of my work in the 'Waxy Creations' editorial in the magazine. I don't know which page it is, but its near the back of the mag. Check it out! I feel so privileged and honoured to be featured in their magazine again! Whoo! Today is Win it Wednesday, and I've posted today's random question to the top of my group page. Since we live in a valley that's called Whitecourt, I don't get my most favorite radio station until we've climbed out of the valley (if I'm driving on a road trip to Edmonton). That radio station is called Now! Radio. Its the only radio station we listen to when we're driving to the city. That is, until I discovered their app, and more recently, their website (where I can listen live). {Insert angels singing} Bliss!!! Its so nice being able to listen to radio that has great shows, great music, and great dj's. My personal favourite is the Rachel Day show. Love that girl! So, my question to you, is what's your favourite radio station to listen to? You can leave your entry/comment here, or you can comment on the random question over on my group page. You'll find my group page HERE. Good luck! I hope everyone has a fabulous day, and I'll see you again really soon! Hey guys! With my husband being home all weekend, and not much work for him lately, jumping on here to chat with you has been sketchy! I've missed it, so I figured I'd jump on the computer before he gets home, so that I don't miss chatting with you! I've done a lot again today, so this will be a pretty full picture post again. Hold on to your shorts- it'll be a wild ride! I'm absolutely loving that nearly all of the paper that I've been using to make up this mini album is scraps! It feels great having found a really effective and efficient way to use up most ALL of my paper, instead of discarding it. I love it! The Mothers' Day card was actually made last week, but I forgot to upload it to the computer! I knew that I had made another set, with all the batches I'd made then, but it was underneath a bunch of other paper! And, as you can see there's a bunch more sneak peeks here! So, there is more I'd like to show you, but my husband is home! Ack! I'll get back to it tomorrow- earlier- so that I'm not cut off half way through!
Thanks for dropping in and I'll see everyone again tomorrow! Hello! How is everyone's evening going? Mine is great. The house is so quiet without the kids here, but truthfully, I'm completely enjoying the solitude. I can listen to music when I like, and when I am tired of it (or noise), I can turn it off! And, it stays off! I love it! Its Win it Wednesday today, but you may have noticed that I posted the trivia question to my group page late last night. I wanted to give everyone ample opportunity to answer the question, so I got it up as soon as I thought of it! This weeks' trivia question was inspired by all the camping and road tripping we've been doing lately, and I became curious to know what YOUR favorite camping destinations are! If you'd like to join in the fun, and potentially win a fabulous handmade card, you'll find the trivia question posted to the top of my group page, HERE. The contest will be open until 8 am tomorrow morning, so get your comments in! You may also leave your comments here on this blog post to be entered into the draw. Only one entry per commenter, please. I'll use Random.Org to draw our winner after 8 am tomorrow morning. Good luck, everyone! This post is going to be picture heavy, so I'll keep the chitchatting to a minimum, but I do just want to say that I am nearly done (just one set of cards left) the 'Doily Scallop' collection of greeting cards, as I've lovingly dubbed them. Once I've completed the last set, I'll start to work on the next custom mini album I've been so kindly asked to make. Intermittently, I'll start a new collection, though I don't know what that's going to be yet! Keep your eyes peeled for it! So, without further adieu, here's all the cards I made today: I just have to interject here. I rotated the Sympathy card, because the sentiment was so big, it fit the width of the card as it stood vertically. I didn't like that, so turned it 90 degrees to make it fit! Also, those last two cards- the Thanksgiving one and the Sympathy one, both have stamping inside the card. They look like this: Well, that's all I've got for tonight, folks. I know, its pretty insane. Be prepared for more insanity tomorrow! I'm going to get as much of it (scrapping) as I can while my kiddos are gone, and maybe some of the itch that's in my system will have worn off by the time they get back! If not, I'll have two hours every morning while they're away at school to keep the mojo flowing!
Thanks for dropping in, I love you, and see you again tomorrow! Hi everybody! Remember me?! How are y'all doing?! Our camping trip was phenomenal. The campground was so.nice- quiet, private, full of families and kids; the lake was gorgeous- clean, sandy, wet; and the area we camped in was just simply stunning. If any of my fans and readers live in the Elk Point/St. Paul/Two Hills/Col.d Lake area, you are incredibly lucky ducks. I've never been to that part of the province, and I've fallen in love with it. I love the hills, the trees, the lakes...just plain gorgeous. I've concluded the Whitney Lakes Provincial Parks is my most favorite place to camp. Thus far. Anyone ever been there? What are your thoughts? Does anyone remember THESE cards? I know I made them quite some time ago. I had a "Duh!!" moment this afternoon, and posed a question to my group page, asking my fans if they would prefer each set of cards being different from the other, or if I should start replicating each of the sets, using different sentiments. The question is still open- I'd love for your input- but I'm thinking I'm going to start making duplicate sets of all the cards I have now, but variegate the sentiments between them all. I made up a list, which will include all the major holidays (Easter, Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentines), and the major sentiments most cards implement (baby boy, baby girl, birthday, sympathy, thinking of you, etc). When the other, not so big, but still big in their own way (Halloween, Canada Day, Back to school, etc.) events roll around, I'll have a few OOAK's, or One of a Kinds for sale. That way I can integrate everything! I really need to sit down with a calendar and mark down all the holidays. And, considering my American friends, think of their holidays, too. As a result, here are the first two sets in the Doily Scallop collection: I splurged this afternoon, and bought some new paper packs and other goodies at Walmart, and I used some of the new patterned papers here. The Christmas cards were made using patterned papers from the 4x6 Sweet Nectar Designer Mat paper pad by EKSuccess; the patterned papers in the Just a Note cards are from the Patty Young Designs collection pack by Momenta. I'm absolutely loving that coral paired with the grey! I've got to remember that color palette! I also made another set of cards today, but its what triggered my decision to start replicating everything. I've reached a point where its gotten to be a bit frustrating to keep looking for inspiration (and not being satisfied or inspired by anything), and so I decided that it was time to switch gears. Come the New Year, I'll search for new inspiration (not that I'll stop collecting it!!); its just that I'll start implementing it in the New Year. So, here's the other set of cards: Early this morning, before the day wound up getting crazy and hectic, I completed these two projects: The ABC cards inspired the message centre that you see on the left side of the photo column. I didn't make it with anyone in mind- or anyone in particular- it just sort of came to be! I am open to selling it, if there is enough interest in purchasing it. $10.00 CAD, and its yours! Otherwise, I may give it to the girls' Pre-Kindergarten teacher when they start school. Just as a nice thought/gesture type of thing. I used mini clothespins to hold the paper in place. When she runs out of paper, she can easily add more! This can also be customized to anything you want- shopping list, notes, you name it, I'll get it done! Pretty impressive for a day without kids, wouldn't you say?! The next three weeks are going to be a.ma.zing!!! (ALthough we'll be gone for another week in there, too). Coming up tomorrow, I'll be starting on a new mini album for a repeat customer. I'm pretty excited to be starting on it. Unfortunately, the wedding album I was so excited about, appears to have fallen through. But, no worries! I'm so happy to be working on this for my customer!
Goodnight, sweet dreams, and I'll catch up with everyone again tomorrow! Hey everyone! Its going to be a super quick, short post tonight. I'll share the last 6 pages of the brown paper mini album I was working on, and explain more about it when I get back from our camping trip on Monday. Sorry, its just late right now, and I need to get to bed so I have energy for the busy day ahead of us tomorrow! (And, I was wrong in the last post. I thought there were only 3 pages left, not six). And, in other news, there's a FLASH SALE happening at my group page: 50% off everything in the SALE! and RTS albums. I will ship anywhere in North America, so if you've been eyeing a set of cards (or card), but haven't gotten it yet, YOU SHOULD! I'm going to extend the sale, which was going to end tomorrow at noon, keeping it open until we come back, so Monday night! We'll say Monday night at midnight, the sale will end. I will also update my group page, too. You'll find the link HERE.
Thanks for dropping in, enjoy your weekend, and take care! See you all next week! Hi everybody! WHen was the last time you received great news, that made you almost delirious with excitement? For me, it was today. This evening, as a matter of fact. My mom had phoned to let me know she sent me moolah (for the Christmas cards I made for her), and she went on to tell me that one of the ladies she works with is interested in having three mini albums made- one for each of her boys. I'm pretty stoked- that's going to be a large order! Phew! Lets hope it comes through! Ha. Now that I mentioned that, Murphy is going to sabotage my great news. (Wink, wink). In other news, my freedom (aka kidless days) has all to quickly come to an end. I'm going tomorrow afternoon to pick them up. Their grandma needs to run an errand on Thursday that's taking her all the way to Camrose, and we don't want the girls riding along with her. But, that's ok, because I'll be busy enough getting all our laundry done and re-packed for our next camping trip. So, just a friendly reminder that I'll be gone from Friday the 15th to Monday the 19th. You'll see me going gung-ho again when we return- the girls are going on another vacation- this time with their OTHER set of grandparents! They'll be gone an entire two weeks! I'll try and contain my excitement. Ahem. I'll be sooo sad while they're gone! We may- though that hasn't been confirmed yet- be going away again for a few days, just me and the hubby, but I'll let y'all know that for sure. If not, I'll definitely be away the first week of September. But, I'll remind you before then. My new customer and I are working closely together, trying to come up with ideas that will be perfect for her sisters' wedding album. I made this layout as a sample for her. We are trying to come up with ideas that tie French and country together, and this is what I came up with. My customer likes the idea of using blue, and she wants bits of red in there. The wedding colors are pink and green. So, even though there's no green in this layout, you will find more green in the rest of the album. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of France (romantic France) is toile. The recipient of this album was born in France, and so we're trying to brainstorm ideas that incorporate her heritage into a few of the pages within the album. After I thought some more about it, lace, doilies and florals also came to mind. THEN, I began wondering what the colors of France's flag is. I'm pretty sure its white, blue and red. Right? I better Google it. Ha. We both agreed that an ombre effect would be nice, so I stacked and layered strips of punched card stock, in varying shades of blue. It looks very lacey, doesn't it? There is enough room inside the photo mat for two 4x6 photos, or one 5x7 (horizontal) photo. My customer hasn't given me the yay or nay yet, but I have to say that I'm (personally) in love with this sample. If she decides she doesn't like it, this layout will be added to my RTS album (on my group page), and someone else can snatch it up! Next on the agenda is coming up with a theme for the groom in this album- who is through and through a country boy. I want to create another ombre effect background, but instead using yellows, greens and golds. I'm just not sure yet how I'm going to do it! Ha. I should do a John Deere theme- green and yellow! Its a thought... Remember THESE cards? I want to use the same stamp on the groom's layout. I'm just not sure how I'm going to do it yet! It looks a bit like wheat. Right? I think it does... Here's the next set of pages in our nieces' baby shower album! I switched up the blue photo mats with yellow ones this time. I think I might like the yellow better. I had originally cut out a bunch of photo mats using this yellow lattice paper, but I didn't like it. That's why you saw the blue in the previous pages. I pulled out the yellow again today, just to see how I felt about it, and I adore it! Why didn't I just stick with my gut feeling in the first place?! Oh well. Live and learn. As I mentioned last night, the next set of pages would house the border along the bottom portion of the pages, and as you can plainly see, they are definitely at the bottom of the pages! I added a few baby sentiment stamps to the bottom of the photo mats on the left page, and to the top right photo mats on the right page. I'm hesitant to add any kind of embellishments (or too many) because without the pictures, I'm not entirely sure where to put them! Also, I want the star of the album to be our nieces' baby. Too much will distract from the pictures. This album is coming quickly to a close. There's two pages left, and then the back cover of the album. Next on cue is the wedding album I'm eager to get started on! Has anyone else noticed that I've got babies on the brain lately?! Everything I'm making these days is all about babies! It must be due to the fact that I'm working on the baby album for our niece. It just occurred to me today, that I'm going baby crazy! While I was brainstorming ideas for the layout that you saw above, I came up with this idea. I cut multiple circles using my Cricut, then adhered them in sort of a mod/hodge podge sort of way. For a little extra dimension, I adhered them using pop dots. I found the sentiment stamp buried in my stash, and sadly, I don't think its ever been used! I plan on doing another set of cards using the same layout, but with a different theme. It originally was going to be a birthday theme; it may still be, or I might change it up. I might possibly go with another baby card, or a completely different sentiment all together. Not totally sure yet! It'll be a surprise for all of us! Oh shoot! Here we are coming into another Wednesday, which means Win it Wednesday is on our door step! Since I've got babies on the brain, tell me, how many children have you always wanted? How many children do you have? Our contest will run until Thursday morning at 8 am, upon which I'll draw the winner using Random.Org. This weeks' winner will win THIS card. Good luck, everyone! Well, my dear friends, that's all I've got for tonight. I hope you have a wonderful evening, and if there's severe weather in your area, I hope that it leaves you unscathed! According to the Weather Network, we are in for one doozy of a storm late tonight. We shall see. It feels really humid out there (even at this hour!!), so we shall see. I may not get very much sleep tonight. I am not a storm enthusiast by any means!
Anywho, take care, and I'll catch up with everyone again tomorrow. Hi everybody! If you saw it, I mentioned on the group page that I was going to be all alone all night, but as it turns out, my husband is already on his way home! He drove an hour and a half (half way to his destination), only to find out they no longer needed his services. He was sent out on a 'stuck and tow' mission. Basically, he was going to pull out another truck that got himself buried. Probably in mud. Since my husband drives the largest (and heaviest) truck in the fleet, he got nominated to go rescue the dude. Lucky guy. He's a bit peeved they waited until he was half way there to tell him they no longer needed him, but at least he's not coming home at some ungodly hour tonight- like 1 am tomorrow morning (or later). So, I'm going to quickly whip up this blog post, and then chill with him for the rest of the evening. I think we're planning an ice cream date. Speaking of ice cream, I've been searching and searching, for years and years, for peach passionfruit frozen yogurt. Its like heaven on earth. Well, I thought I found it yesterday at the grocery store. I nearly had a meltdown right in the frozen goods aisle, and then I realized it still isn't the right kind. But, its close enough. I am having a love affair with mango lately, so peach mango is close enough in my books. Who else loves mango??! With no kiddos tugging at my shirt tails every 30 seconds, I got a lot done today! Ha! To begin, I finally got Rosalyn's layout done today. I found stickers that would work well to highlight a digger/CAT heavy machinery themed layout. Here it is! I really wanted to incorporate the CAT logo into the layout, but for the life of me, I could NOT figure out how to replicate the logo multiple times on my computer. I managed to get it printed out three times on a single sheet, but the font was way too large. Then, the problem became trying to figure out how to make it smaller! I eventually scrapped that idea, and typed out the word 'caterpillar' multiple times, and cut and pasted it until I had filled a page. Once it printed, the margins were way off, so I needed to figure out a way to make it work with my spread. I came up with the idea of using the arrows that you see bordering the 4x6 photo, to mimic the arrow that you find in the logo. I cut out one of the three caterpillar logo's and used it to create a border three quarters of the way down the page, and layered a caution sign on top of it for a little extra oomph. I stuck with CAT colors, as you can plainly see. I think the whole thing screams CAT. Yes?? Remember the baby cards I made YESTERDAY? I mentioned that I wanted to create more cards, but with a boy-ish twist? Here they are! I realize they can be for just about any occasion, but I originally intended them for a baby boy. I love the teal and orange combo. Its a fun twist! Lastly, I got four pages in the baby shower mini album I'm working on, done this afternoon. Phew! Since the brown paper bags are folded in half, when you get to the middle portions of each bag, it isn't as easy to take a picture of each page separately. I could have snapped separate pictures of the pages on the right, but decided to keep it all the same this time around, so there's no confusion. Mainly, so I'M not confused. Ha! I liked the froggy stamp so much, that I had to use it in the mini album, too. Instead of including the sentiment, I only inked the frog portion, then inked the edges of the circle I centred it onto. I used some pop dots to make it stand out a little more. (Those are pages 2-3). Pages 4-5 are flipped, if you noticed. Instead of adhering the border to the outside left and right sides of the pages, instead I adhered it to the top portion of these pages. On pages 6-7, you'll find the border along the bottom only, and pages 8-9 will be on the outside left and right edges again. Make sense? It'll keep following that pattern until the album is completed. The back cover will look similar to the front cover. I stamped a sentiment on the bottom right page (4), then added brads to the top right portion of page 5. For an additional twist, you may also find that the color scheme will change midway through the album. Just trying to keep y'all on your toes!! In other news, I'll be working on a wedding scrapbook album once this baby album is completed. So, keep your eyes peeled for that. My customer has requested that pictures remain anonymous, so I'll only be providing sneak peeks again, once the album is under way. I can't wait. I'm delirious with excitement!!
Enjoy your evening, peeps, and I'll be back again tomorrow, with more wonderful goodies! Hi everybody! How was your Sunday? Ours was pretty relaxing, but fun. I got to ride shotgun with Kyle for a bit this afternoon; he was called into work to stack some mats for a job tomorrow, and I got to accompany him. When we got back to the yard, he took a loader, crumpled up a barbecue that we've been wanting to dispose of for a while, and then threw (or, dropped) it into the trash. I posted a video to my Facebook; you'll find it HERE. It'll be the most recent post on my personal Facebook. After that, we did a bit of grocery shopping, I hit the Dollar Store (and found the perfect item I was looking for!!), and made it home just as a thunderstorm blew into our area. I got a few projects done today, including one that's a surprise. I can't show you the entire project, but I can (I think), show you a sneak peek! I can tell you its my first design team assignment for Simple Sketches. Eek! In addition to that, I finished the title page of our nieces' baby shower mini album, and I made some baby themed greeting cards! It was a wonderful day. I am in.love. with the title page of this mini album! I began putting it together yesterday, but only got the base adhered to the brown paper bag (the green chevron patterned paper, and the yellow, green polka dot and red strips layered on top of it). I wasn't quite sure what sort of sentiment or embellishment I was going to use, until I came across the elephant in the Sugar and Spice Cricut cartridge. I thought it would work perfectly for an album that'll be dedicated to a sweet little boy. I began by cutting out the scalloped circle (3.5 inches), using my Cricut, and the same cartridge that I mentioned above, then cut out the inset circle (4 inches) using my Cricut, as well. For some extra dimension, I used pop dots to adhere the elephant, and used my brad setter to make a hole and insert the star brad for an eye. Lastly, I stamped the title with Cherry Cobbler ink (SU), and added a bow at the top of the page to complete the title page. I've been dying to use this umbrella stamp, and wasn't sure how I was going to go about that, until I came across THIS sketch. I love the simplicity of this sketch, and the white space it lends, keeping the eye right on the focal point of the card, which happens to be the embellishment and sentiment. Rather than using a flower, I thought the umbrella would be perfect for a baby card, though I realize that it doesn't make a very good 'boy' card. I might cut out more elephants, like the one above, and create more for baby boys. Or a little ducky, since I've got an image for that on one of my Cricut cartridges, too. Maybe a moon and stars...there's lots of possibilities! Once again, it was very simple and very easy to make. And, how much do you love the yellow polka dot patterned paper?! I'm smitten! Once again, we've rolled around to Mojo Monday. Since today's post has been mostly about baby's, my challenge to you is to create something that's baby inspired, or geared towards a little baby. Use my projects as inspiration, or find something else online (or elsewhere) that inspires you! Be creative, and when you're done, link up your project to the blog here, or to my group page. I'd love to see how you've been inspired!
Take care, everyone, and I'll see you all again tomorrow! |
