When I sat down to create this layout, the first thing I thought of is the new card sketch that's posted over at LCOM. You can see it HERE. You'll also find it over at my group page, if you haven't seen it already. I wanted to use up the scraps of paper littering my work desk, so what you see there is what was lying on my desk! Ha! The grey striped portion of patterned paper with the butterflies punched in it, was actually the bottom portion of the yellow butterfly patterned paper. I just trimmed it off, flipped it over to the "B" side of the paper, and filled one of the punched butterflies with a square of yellow card stock (I let it peek out from the edges- I thought the 'sloppy' look looked great!) I left the other punched butterfly as is, so that the "A" side of the patterned paper peeked through. Also, the pink and brown strips of patterned paper were left over from the cards I made today, and I liked how it framed the photo. I adhered the title overtop the top portion of the paper strips, and added the little e-i-e-i-o sticker to the bottom right of the photo. The photo is 3x3. Lastly, the pink border strip along the bottom is from the Paris Girl collection; I fussy cut the banner from the paper, and adhered it along the bottom of the yellow card stock, to help tie a little more pink into my design.
The story behind this: While we were in Edmonton for the weekend (some time ago), we stopped at McDonalds before leaving town to feed the kiddo's. When they saw that we were going to eat at McDonalds, they asked if we were eating at "Old" Mcdonalds. Its stuck ever since. Adorable, right?!
And, for this weekend only, if anyone is interested in purchasing these cards, I'll have them on sale until midnight Monday: $5.00 for all three cards. If you like them, hurry and snatch them all up! My maple leaf wood veneers are limited, so get them before they're gone!
