Orchids are my most favorite flower. Kyle bought me these flowers- I can't remember the reason anymore, but it doesn't matter. He thought of me, he bought them for me, and I love them. That's whats most important. I love pink and green together, and I love that the papers I chose accentuate the intensity of the flower so brilliantly! I'm also stoked that my orchid is thriving so heartily! Its only got one bloom left on it now, but I noticed the other night that a new leaf is growing!!! I have a green thumb afterall! I've got it in the only south facing window in our house- in my haven- and its breathtaking and vibrant, and flourishing! I've had orchids before, but they never survived. I am so glad this one is.
I inked the edges of the sentiment with SU's Chocolate Chip ink, then put some pop dots behind it to help it stand out just a little more from the rest of the layout. I also layered it on top of a journalling card (So Noted), then embellished using alphas and butterfly stickers from Echo Parks Here and Now collection. Lastly, the pink tab you see sticking up above the picture is hidden journalling.
I know this picture isn't a very good illustration of Maren hugging anyone; truthfully, I don't have any good pictures of a real Maren hug. And, rather than digging and digging through the thousands of pictures I've taken, I tried looking for one in one of my most current albums on the computer. This is what I came up with.
Once again, I used up scraps from the previous two layouts- and as the scraps get smaller and smaller, the challenge of creating something pretty becomes tougher and tougher! I embellished this page using stickers from EP's Here and Now collection, and created the title using alphas from Carta Bella's So Noted collection. I used a file folder from Recollections to write the journalling on, and adhered a banner, using pop dots, from the So Noted collection as part of the journalling.
I've got a layout on my desk that I'm hoping to finish up tonight, and if not tonight, then tomorrow; hopefully tomorrow afternoon, or after the kids are in bed tomorrow night, I'll be able to share it with you! Till then, enjoy the rest of your Sunday evening, and I'll be back tomorrow with our Mojo Monday inspiration, and a Pinterest Inspired project.
Love you all, thanks for dropping by!
