This little gem is going to a dear friend of mine. I hope she likes it!
We had another rainy day over here, so it was a quiet, lounge-around type of day. We've been working on getting Maren to get really good at going on the potty, and this afternoon she totally blew me away! With no prompting from me, she went on the potty and did her #1! I had no idea. Previous to that, I let her run around naked because I wanted her to do #2.. I was putting dishes away in the kitchen when she suddenly called from the living room to 'come and look'. Sure enough, there was a surprise in there for me. Way to go, girl! And, every time she does her job on the potty, the first thing out of her mouth is always, 'now I get to go to school!' Then, she always says, 'now I get a treat!!' (We give them 'treats' when they've done their job on the potty). I'm so glad that's good motivation for her. Now if only Addison would follow in her footsteps!
I'm gearing up to get the girls ready to go camping with their grandparents again. Their grandma and grandpa K are avid fishermen; they took the girls ice fishing earlier this spring (and they rocked it- they both caught fish!!), and now they're going to take them again. If the weather stays nice, they'll be leaving Sunday, and will come back the weekend after. The girls are pretty excited about it. We were even playing pretend fishing this afternoon. LOL Which, that would work out well because I've got a hair appointment coming up. Are you ready, Amy?! LOL
The layout I finished yesterday- this layout- was the day the girls were leaving to go camping with their grandparents this past spring. When I sit down to make another layout, that one will be all about how good at fishing they are. The story is, Maren knew, without a doubt, that there was a fish at the end of her line. She could feel it jerking on it, so she told grandma. Grandma didn't believe her, but sure enough, once she had the pole in her hands, she could feel it, too. Addison didn't know she had a fish on the end of her line, when she caught it, but grandma knew. (She must have been there helping her). And, their fish were good sized ones, too! Big enough to keep. They are in our freezer at this moment. But, who knows when they'll be cooked in this house. I will not eat fish. Except tuna. So, they will have to cook it when I am away.
Today's Win it Wednesday question was 'What is your favorite color?' Every so often, mine seems to change. When I got married, I was obsessed with a pale robins egg blue and charcoal, then for a while, I was obsessed with olive green and teal. Nowadays, its a tie between yellow, teal and grey and coral. I can't find much in the way of coral, so much hasn't been done using that color. But, I would like to do more using yellow, teal and grey. Such pretty colors together! Another close favorite is olive green and purple.
Thank you to everyone that participated in today's challenge. I'll have our winner posted tomorrow morning.
