It was productive, because I got an entire layout done before supper!!!! Hokey Dinah, I'm giddy with excitement! Though, I would be more excited if I got two layouts done, instead of one. But, hey, it was a nice evening chilling (literally) in the basement with Kyle, watching another episode of AGT. No harm, no foul. I am looking forward to spending lots of time in the basement over the next couple of days with the hot weather they're forecasting. (Shhh...no one needs to know that I'm actually frozen right now! I'm thinking about pulling on some slippers. I don't want to complain, though, because I know it won't be long after I return upstairs, that I'll be cursing the hot house I'll be trying to sleep in!)
One of my favorite color schemes is pink and green together, so that's what I ran with today. I wanted to use up the scraps I've been saving up from everything I've been working on lately, and this worked beautifully to utilize those little bits of paper that are quickly piling up. I also wanted to utilize my spray inks, which I haven't used in a while. So, I used a little bit of my Bubblegum Pink Dylusions Ink, and Pink Gumball Perfect Pearls Mist. I didn't realize until now that they're slightly different shades of pink. But, they're close enough, and I like that the different shades adds some depth to the background card stock. Score!
To highlight, I used embellishments with sparkle, and that are orange and blue in nature. The journalling card had the orange in it, so I needed to find something that would tie it into my page; same was true for the blue. Except in that case, it was a little banner in the top corner that you'll see in the next picture. The butterfly helps tie the banner into the whole scheme.
You may have noticed that the titles of some of my albums has changed. I just began thinking over the last few days, that they should be titled a little more inline with what my mission is- to sell cards and custom layouts and scrapbooks. You'll also notice that the descriptions that go along with them has changed slightly, too. I'd still like to keep the layout and presentation in a forum/community format, but I also want to increase my sales pitch and presence. That way, traffic coming to my page, can see what items are currently for sale, how much they are, and that they are ready to go. As for my layouts, its just a little taste test of what I make, and what my style looks like- which is basically clean and simple. I think. I get pretty overwhelmed sometimes with a lot of things added on. So, if there was any confusion, I hope that clears it up!
Once again, please, please, please spread the word that I'm here, and open to orders and custom work, and would sincerely envy new requests. I'm having a total blast doing what I'm doing, and I don't want to stop! If there are any Buy and Sell groups that you're involved in on Facebook, direct me their way if they are open to Work at Home moms posting their business to their pages; I'm already involved in a few of them, but more is always better! The more people I can reach, the better chances I have of acquiring more work! I don't mean to beg and grovel...I just really want to keep up the momentum! I know you'll understand.
Well, my dear friends, its time to turn in and get back at it again tomorrow. Thanks for dropping in, and I'll chat at you again soon!
