But, I am getting ahead of myself. All that fun stuff happened the day after their actual birthday. This year, it fell on a Friday, so we just had a quiet celebration at home with just the four of us. The big party happened the day after. We tried making the day special for the girls on that Friday; we made pancakes, I made them a birthday cake, and they opened their birthday presents later in the afternoon, after they woke from their nap. I hope they enjoyed it!
I wanted to give this layout a festive feeling, and I thought the banner paper from CB's Alphabet Junction conveyed that. I also wanted to pick up the colors in the girls dresses, so stuck with an orange, pink and green palette. The white doily works nicely to tie in the 'garden party' aspect (even though that took place on Saturday).
The banner patterned paper is double sided, and I used pretty well the entire sheet on this layout. The B side of the paper is the pink plus sign pattern. The green patterned paper was a scrap that I've had for ages, as was the small heart punched from striped patterned paper.
The title and date embellishment are a collaboration of a few different collections- So Noted and Merry and Bright (both Carta Bella). This layout just makes me smile.
And then, so do my girls.
Do you love celebrating? What are your favorite celebrations? Do you put your heart and soul into planning, and don't leave out the smallest detail, or are you more laid back and go-with-the-flow? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Thanks for dropping in, and I hope you come by again tomorrow!
