So, I obliged the kids. I made them a cake, and let them choose the color of icing we iced the cake. It was blue. (Fitting for a boy, wouldn't you say??!) Then, we had to add sprinkles. I personally think Jesus would have been rather flattered that these two precious girls wanted Him to have a cake. I love their hearts.
I decided to color in the cupcake stamp that I used, so I broke out my Stampin' Up water color pencils, and colored it in without blending it. Then, I did some additional stamping on the journalling spot, layered some papers, and a layout was borne!
Supplies:
Cricut: all the patterned papers are Cricut brand
Recollections: blue and orange card stocks in the background (Cool water and preppy beach collections)
Misc: red and light orange card stock, white card stock, cupcake and party stamps
Stampin' Up: Night of Navy ink
Adhesive: herma vario tape
Everything here, except for the ribbon (which is American Crafts), is Carta Bella, from the Merry and Bright collection.
Had my parents ever told me that one day I would love my sister like a soul mate, I would have thought they were insane. I am not sure if my parents ever told me that or not, but its true. Since my sister and I became adults, our bond has become closer than ever. To steal a phrase from Grey's Anatomy, she's my 'person'. And, she literally is. I've said this over and over again, but there's no denying how true it is. She helped me bring my kids into the world. Aside from Kyle, there's no person closer to me than my own sister.
I know, for a fact, that the girls don't believe this little piece of wisdom. But, I know that one day they will. I tell them every so often, that even though right now they hate each other's guts (sometimes), their feelings for each other will change, and no one will ever be as close to their hearts as their sister. And, especially since they are twins, they are each other's soul mates. No one will ever break the bond they share.
Once again, everything here is Carta Bella (Merry and Bright collection), other than the kraft card stock and green card stock. Those are both Recollections.
