With this particular layout, I am nearing the Christmas holiday. The next few layouts, after I post these five, will be dedicated to Christmas. And, getting into the current year is going to feel amazing. Just sayin'.
I was having a mini photo shoot with myself while I was waiting for Kyle to finish getting ready for his works' annual Christmas party up at the Casino. And, as promised, I created a border using the stamped journalling spot cut in half. I didn't stamp a design on it, though. I didn't feel the flowers would really work for this layout, and my snowflake stamps are too large for anything to look good.
I used yesterday's pink, orange and coral color scheme on this layout- with the added red and blue accents. I didn't have any more A's in either the blue alphas or small red ones, so I improvised, and used stars instead. Kind of adds a bit of whimsy, and I like it.
Recollections: dark orange, orange and pink card stocks (from the Preppy Beach and Moroccan collections)
SU: orange card stock the 'Merry Christmas' sentiment is stamped on; Pumpkin Pie ink; Contempo Christmas stamp set
K&Co: orange flowered patterned paper (from the Sweet Nectar collection)
Martha Stewart: scallop border punch
Jillibean Soup: blue 'denim' alphas and red alphas, and house embellishment all from the Winter Tortellini collection. The stars are from the Country Pumpkin collection
Misc: green stamped patterned paper, orange strip of patterned paper, blue card stock
Adhesive: herma vario tape, 3-D pop dots
The small picture I added after the fact. After I got my layout done. I had sat down to the computer, looking for the next pictures I was about to scrapbook, and I came across this one. Initially, I was going to dedicate a layout to this picture, but decided, when inspiration hit, to add it to this layout. After all, the flowers were given to me because I wasn't feeling well.
Kyle knows that Orchids are my favorite flowers, and he bought me some to cheer me up. What a sweetheart! They now reside in my scrap room, right in the window. (Its the only window in the house that faces South, and apparently Orchids like south-facing windows). Its a win-win!!
Recollections: white, black and blue card stock (which is from the Cool Water collection)
K&Co: the patterned paper strip (from the Best Of collection at Walmart)
Jillibean Soup: alphas (Winter Tortellini collection)
Martha Stewart: cherish border punch
Adhesive: 3-D pop dots, glue dots and herma vario tape
Everything you see here is from Jillibean Soup, including the patterned paper in the background. It is all from the Winter Tortellini collection.
Adhesive: herma vario tape
The top picture shows just me and Kyle's presents under the tree, and the bottom picture shows most of all of our presents under the tree. We didn't put them all out because we didn't want the kids breaking into them before they were supposed to. I was pretty impressed with them. They didn't seem too interested in the presents until the day OF Christmas.
The green patterned paper is an 8x8 size, and rather than trimming it down, I decided to keep it correct. Its from K&Co's Sleepy Tree collection. Everything else here is either Stampin' Up and Jillibean Soup, except the card stock!
That tiny little half circle up at the top of the layout is a tab for hidden journalling, which basically sums up what the layout is about. As I was baking pumpkin bread for Christmas, I decided to give away the other two loaves that the recipe yields, to the neighbors on either side of us, to repay them for the kindness they've shown us since we moved into our house.
Once again, all the supplies I used are Recollections and Jillibean Soup.
