(HA- did you think I meant alcoholic beverage when I said I needed a drink?! The thought did cross my mind...but, I wanted something cold, not room temp, so opted for an iced tea. In a giant Treasure Island skull cup from Vegas. I wanted a BIG one! On the rocks).
Supplies:
Carta Bella: embellishments, pink sticker border (True Friends collection)
Jillibean Soup: 'Remember Today' journalling spot (Country Pumpkin collection)
Recollections: yellow, green, and purple card stocks (Cool Water and Spice Market collections. Yellow is unknown)
K&Co: patterned paper (Itsy Bitsy collection) still possibly available at Walmart
Adhesive: herma vario
I wanted to include some sparkle again, since there's some sparkle in my wedding dress- though not much. So, I wanted just a little bit on my layout. I also wanted to play with my wedding colors again (blue and charcoal), so whipped out some white, blue and grey card stock. To soften some of the edges, I used my corner rounder to round two of the edges on the card stocks. I also used a scallop circle stamp for the journaling, which I stamped directly onto my layout. I used my Staz On ink, so that it wouldn't rub off or smudge where the ink meets the photo paper.
This is the layout I mentioned the other day- you can find the post HERE- that I wanted to create about having G's birthday in the same conference room as some of the wedding pictures taken at my wedding. (I had to throw in the picture of one of my good friends, and my sister, just because I love it so much, and I'm fairly sure I haven't scrapped it yet. I don't know what's so funny in the pic; it just makes me smile whenever I look at it. Whatever it was, must have been pretty funny. And, knowing those two girls, it probably was. That's why it makes me smile). The title here is fairly self explanatory, and pretty well sums up what the entire page was about: me being sentimental. Four years separated the first event from the second, and look how much has changed in just 4 short years! WOW! My wedding still seems like it happened yesterday; so does having my children. Time sure does go faster the older we get.
Do you have any funny 'notions' or hang ups about scrapbooking that you know are silly, but you just can't let go of them? Whether they make sense or not? I have this one, where pictures (like the two small ones on this layout) can't or shouldn't hang over a piece of paper that's matted underneath it. Either they need to be small enough so there's a border surrounding it, or the paper underneath needs to be wide enough to encompass all the photos or none at all. Make sense? Its silly, I know, and I purposely forced myself to ignore that hang up, but for some odd reason, I always feel the need to keep everything within some sort of border. I think maybe because it feels sloppy to me? I'm not sure! Tell me about some of the hang ups you've got. I'd love to hear!
