I mentioned this morning that there's a few events coming up in the Edmonton area, and I thought I'd share them with you, in case you're interested. First, there's a crop event going on June 1st at the Leefield Community Hall 7910-36 ave. The cost is $45 and includes your meals for the day, as well as your own table. There will be games and prizes, as well. You can find the ad on Kijiji HERE. Please message host and/or respond to the ad to reserve your spot! (Sorry, I have no other contact information other than what I provided).
Unfortunately, there was another ad that I had seen, but it seems to have been removed already. Sorry!
I converted these two photos to black and white because they are so dark otherwise. What you can't see now that the pictures are black and white, is that the banner that's hanging above my dining room window is pink polka dots. And, I thought of Carta Bella's Paris Girl collection right away, because I knew there was a pink polka dot banner on the sticker sheet.
Pink is Maren's favorite color, and Addison's favorite color is purple, so I used both those colors on this project. (On a side note, Kyle and I think we 'conditioned' the girls to love those colors. We gave them each soothers--suckies--in the colors that are now their favourites). Coincidence? You be the judge. I've heard stories from other parents, though, of their children growing to love a certain colour after their parents dressed them in that color a lot). Just sayin'.
The little bit of embellishing was created using the Well Travelled collection.
The girls are special. Lots of people love them, not just their mama and daddy. A friend that they'd never met joined us (her mama and I are long time friends now), and most of the most important people in their lives were there. We were just missing one set of grandparents. Not a lot of little people were at their party, because we've been finding it difficult to make any meaningful and lasting friendships here, but what matters is that they were surrounded by the people that love them the most. When they get older, they may not see it that way; but for now, I'm glad we are all they need to be happy.
In other news, I am going to St. Mary's tomorrow to PICK UP REGISTRATION FORMS for the girls. They can start play school in September. I was alerted to that fact late this afternoon. I'm all sorts of emotions right now- ecstatic, scared, worried...It feels like the day would never come, and then POW, it sucker punches you in the face! The nice thing is, St. Mary's is just around the block. I can hear the kids screaming and hollering at each other from the backyard, and the church bells that ring to mark the beginning and end of recess and lunch, and the end of the day. (I think the sound of it is rather pleasant. Much nicer than a bell/buzzer type sound). Not to mention, I can walk them to and from school when its warm enough to do so.
Well, that is all for now! I will be away for the weekend, but will pop in from time to time to say hi and stir up some trouble. Enjoy your weekend!
