Since we don't have a fireplace, we turned the tv on to the fireplace channel, then opened our presents by the 'fire place'.
Each year, the girls are given an ornament for the tree; this year, they got a princess ball ornament that was filled with candy and the year...among a ton of other toys and clothes and other miscellaneous candy type items. Ahem. Which, I discovered still hidden in the cupboard the other day. Sometimes, a forgetful memory is a positive thing!
To challenge yourself sometime, create a photo strip, like I've done here!
Supplies:
Carta Bella: All the embellishments and patterned papers here
Recollections: the red and green card stocks (the green card stock is from the Jewel collection)
Adhesive: herma vario tape
Want to find a way to use up those small pieces of scrap paper that you don't want to throw away? Create a layout like this one! All those strips and squares are scraps! Once again, everything here is Carta Bella. (Minus the card stock)
A wave of inspiration has hit since I finished this layout, so I think I'm going to go back and add one other tiny element to the title: a little '2', to signify squared-- my royal princess squared. Get it?? LOL
Also, all three of my embellishments- the ribbons and the oversize flower, the tiny rhinestones in the upper right corner, and the small white flower in the upper left corner, all create movement within my layout, creating the visual triangle that's so important to layout design. Its a personal fave!!
The supplies I used here, are a mixture of Jillibean Soup, Carta Bella, Recollections, and embellishments from the Dollar Store. I just want to point out, that not always are the biggest brand names and manufacturers the best items to use on a layout. Even the not-as-well-known brands and manufacturers produce some beautiful stuff!
