I just took a few screen shots of the girls' favorite games on my cell phone to help support my main photo, which is in black and white. Its hard to see, but Addison is hoarding my cell phone, playing a game, and Maren is right beside her, waiting (anxiously) for her own turn.
A little trick to save paper, is to take small portions of a larger one, and place them at the top and bottom of a photo or another, larger piece of paper, to create either an accent piece or your journalling spot. I did this with the pink patterned paper that my journalling is on. (They are both 3x3 pieces of scrap paper). You can do that with nearly all your paper- it'll really stretch it out!!
Supplies:
K&K0: all the patterned papers (I think)
Recollections: Green card stock (Spice Market Collection), blue and white card stock, journalling pen
Carta Bella: alphas (Merry and Bright, Paris Girl collections)
Jillibean Soup: alphas (from the Country Pumpkin collection)
Adhesive: herma vario
Supplies:
Recollections: blue card stock (Moroccan collection) brown card stock (Preppy Beach collection)
Stampin' Up: patterned paper (double sided)
Jillibean Soup: alphas and date tag and embellishments (Country Pumpkin collection)
Misc: white bracket (cut with my Cricut)
I wanted to recreate the paint tray in the picture, and originally thought about punching circles in a rainbow of colours- and then I found this patterned paper. Less work=a happy girl!! This works perfectly! I also wanted to pick up the colors in the clothes Addison was wearing the day I took those pictures- teal and purple. Even though I converted the pictures to black and white (because they're fuzzy and unclear IRL), I still wanted to use those colors. It really makes the patterned papers pop, doesn't it?
Using yellow as an accent color, I added a few embellishments, and a yellow paintbrush from the kids' stash, and there you have my finished product!
Supplies:
Carta Bella: patterned paper (Alphabet Junction collection- both sides); alphas (from the So Noted collection); embellishments (from the True Friends collection)
***SIDE NOTE*** I loooovvveeee that these collections are so versatile and work across any collection!!!!!!!!
Recollections: teal card stock (Cool Water collection); purple card stock (Jewel collection)
Adhesive: herma vario tape, glue dots (to adhere the paint brush)
I have another layout that I'd LOVE to share with you, but I won't be able to until the beginning of May. I have to wait until reveal day over at Miracle's Momma Designs. (my DT assignment). And, one last thing. Its been irking me that I haven't shared with you (yet) my border storage and the storage idea I came up with for storing the paper insert that comes with new paper packages (for quick and easy reference). That'll be coming up in a post tomorrow. PROMISE!!!
In other news, I just have to share with you my HAPPY MAIL!!!!!
Sadly (or happily, depending on how you look at it), I'm already planning my next order--a bunch of Jillibean has come in (to Scrapbook.com), and I.WILL.OWN.THEM by the time Mothers' Day rolls around! (Or, shortly thereafter). My allowance never lasts long LOL
Especially the Chilled Cucumber collection. Have a look at it- the colors are so dreamy!!
