I applied a few different techniques to this layout. I pulled out my chevron stencil again, and spritzed with the Sour Apple Pearl Mist (Ranger Industries), then to highlight the pattern a bit more, I used my chevron stamp and stamped over a few areas in Nautical Blue ink (Tsukineko's Dew Drops). I had some strips left over from the fringe I created on yesterday's layout, so I used them here, matting them underneath the photo. I traced a small lid to create a small circle with the floral paper in the bottom right corner, then added a journalling tag that led into what I wanted to share perfectly. Because, that's really how it happened.
I painted the middle arrow with Antique White acrylic paint, because the colors in it didn't really match the colors already found in my layout. I applied a couple coats to cover up the dark colors originally found underneath, then added two smaller ones (which aren't chipboard; the middle one is) on either side of it for a more dramatic effect. Lastly, the large circle was found in that box that Kyle unearthed a short while ago; I mentioned it in yesterday's post. I finally found a use for it! I'll use the other half in another project someday.
So, what really happened? The girls and I came home from an outing of some kind, and when I got out of the car, and opened the back door to get the girls out, this is how I found them. Reading the junk mail and flyers that I'd left in my car after a previous trip. It took me by surprise. I didn't know that's what they were doing. It made me giggle, to say the least.
What did you do on this beautiful first of June? Can you believe its June already?!
Before I forget, I took a few more pictures of some of my storage methods today, and once I get the pictures uploaded to the computer (say, tomorrow) I'll be sharing it with you. This time, its my journalling pens, and how I know what I've got and what colors they are. I also finally took a couple pictures of the girls' new beds with their headboards, so I'll be sharing that too! Am I missing anything? I'll eventually think of it, if I am! Have a great night, and take care! Thanks for dropping in!
