Mom asked me if I had a bag to put the cards in- and I do, but large ones- and I was inspired to head out and find cutesy little gift bags to put purchased cards in- especially for those sales at Farmers' Markets and such. I looked briefly at Walmart tonight (our third trip of the afternoon, because we kept forgetting ingredients for baking...I'll get to that in a minute); I knew they used to have colored gift bags there, but they don't anymore! I wonder if they have them at the Super centres anymore? It'll be a while before I get to the city again, so I won't be able to look for at least a week. I'm thinking I'm going to drop by the Dollar Store, and see what they've got. I really like the idea of putting my cards (and albums!!) in bags if I'm able to hand deliver the purchases. I also used to tie the cards together with twine, and I think I may do that again, as well- for the items that I ship. I'll show you a picture, one of these days. So many plans. Oh! I also want/need to find business cards! Anyone know of any local, cheap places to order business cards? I'll need them before the 11th of August, if I go to the Swap and shop in town next month. If not, I'll definitely need them by September!
Yes, we baked this afternoon. Mom told dad on their way out here today, that today would have been my Opa's birthday (and, if he were still with us today, he'd be 97. Also, we figured out that my paternal grandfather would have been 106 if he were still with us. Insane!) When they celebrated Opa's birthday, they always made him a cherry pie. So, we made a couple cherry pies this afternoon- boy they were delish! I'm trying to avoid helping myself to another slice, though I have a sneaking suspicion my husband has. Or, he got into the banana bread I made this afternoon, too. We wound up with two cherry pies, and two loaves of banana bread. It was an eventful afternoon! But, we kept forgetting important ingredients- like chicken (for supper), and eggs for my banana bread. (I said three trips, because mom and Kyle went out in the beginning to pick up the ingredients to make the cherry pies). Oi. I almost left my car running after I got home, just in case I needed to run out for something else!
So, after trying out a few things tonight, I finally broke down and downloaded Picasa to my computer. I need to google how to change the font and color of my watermark, but I can finally do it on my computer. None of this using my iPhone for it anymore. It was too much of a frustration! So, here's what I've got to share with you tonight:
As I mentioned, these cards are out of the norm for baby cards. I tried keeping with a soft and calming color scheme, though. There aren't really wild, busy, vibrant patterns or colours- just ones that are soothing and pleasing to look at. I've had the stamp that I used for the sentiment in my stash for too long to remember when I bought it; I used SU's Chocolate Chip ink to stamp the sentiment and ink the edges of the oval. I cut the oval with my Cricut. Lastly, I stapled the bits of ribbon to the oval for a bit of an edgier touch.
I will be back sometime tomorrow to share new projects and any other news that I come across, if there is anything to come across. Remember to spread the word that I'm looking for clients to do custom work for! It could be another scrapbook album, a mini album, or a large set of cards- either for a wedding, baby shower or anniversary! Message me or email me ([email protected]) if you're interested!
Thanks for dropping in. See you again tomorrow!
